Solid Colored Blankets

It all began with one soft yellow baby blanket I made for a friend, maybe in 1986. This one was just plain, if I remember right. Certainly there were no cables ~ I don't think there was any pattern to it at all, but I'd have to ask my friend if she (or her grown-up "baby") still has it to see.

The first cable-strewn blanket was made in 2004, right out of my head. I was delighted, and a little bit stunned, that it turned out so beautifully! Then I made another, then another, and yet another... pretty soon they were becoming known, even requested. I gave some to charity auctions and saw they had a monetary value.

That's when I decided to offer them for sale, and the orders have been steady, sometimes spiking past my inventory ~ I call that a good problem!

Here are photos of the solid colors. I apologize for the poor quality of the photos... these do no justice at all! But if I can knit up a full inventory again (I'm working on it), I have a professional photographer friend who has offered an exchange of services ~ photos for some writing.
