A New Design

As a special request, I tried my hand at a new blanket design ~ polka dots! Multi-colored polka dots on a white background. It was a challenge but the blanket turned out beautifully!

First Try at an Adult-Sized Blanket

Success! At last, I have tried my hand at knitting an adult-sized blanket, and it was, according to the buyer, a success.

It was perfect: I wanted to see if I could make a blanket large enough to be cozy for an adult, but needed to experiment. My friend wanted a blanket for herself, and was willing to pay for a baby blanket and let me run that experiment.

I learned some things, and will change some things next time, but maybe soon I will be able to offer blankets large enough for a full size bed. Not yet, but soon.

All the colors

These are the colors I have available at any time, or can have available in two weeks: Soft Pink, Heather Blue, Light Green, Soft Yellow, Lavender, and White. I can also make a unique, one-of-a-kind blanket ~ you choose the main color and I choose the rest, or you choose both or all the colors. In either case, the colors will be in a pattern that only this one blanket will have.

All of them are soft, warm, so easy to take care of, and yet durable. The yarn is 100% acrylic. I know, it sounds like nothing special, but when I first touched it I was impressed with how soft it is, even compared to other baby yarn! Then the real test: knitting up a sample and holding it against my skin. Sometimes very soft yarn can actually irritate ~ but not this yarn. It is soft and comfortable, even against sensitive skin.

Being 100% acrylic also makes so easy to care for. I machine wash and dry these blankets, with no stretching, no pulling, and no shrinking. They come out beautifully! And talk about durable… the first one I made was 22 years ago, and “mama” still has it.

Finally, my blankets are solid pieces, not full of holes like lace or crocheted patterns are. That means they are actually warm, with no drafts places. Your baby will be snuggly warm ~ or you, on the couch on a chilly evening, can enjoy these as cozy lap blankets.

Solid color blankets are US$40, plus 6.3% tax and $5 postage. Two or more colors on a blanket cost an extra $5 each color.
